Summary

This report explores Kisumu’s food system and looks at how urban food considerations are integrated into the city’s development plans. It provides a comprehensive look at Kisumu,  highlighting the linkages between planning, mobility, economy, and food governance. Through urban food system landscaping and situational analyses across key urban sectors (food, health, socio-economics & infrastructure), the report integrates insights from food and nutrition assessments, stakeholder mapping, and policy analyses. This study deepens our understanding of Kisumu’s urban and food systems, laying a foundation for future research and policy development.
