Synthesis report on the 16 multi-stakeholder dialogues on urban food systems contributing to the UN Food Systems Summit

Summary
This report summarises the major outcomes of the dialogues that were conducted by more than 26 local governments and brought together about 1,000 stakeholders under the partnership between FAO and ICLEI in contribution to the UN Food Systems Summit 2021. The purpose of city-level food systems dialogues was to strengthen local multi-stakeholder engagement while collectively enforcing the position of cities as a key driver of food system transformation. Highlights include city-level initiatives which were amplified as part of national, regional and global UNFSS processes. The report also offers a call to action that will support the local governments, Member States and other stakeholders to leverage their food systems capacity in meeting SDGs.
